He said his proposed language recognized the goals the com mission has <br />achieved and builds on those goals. <br />Commissioners discussed whether there should be specific strategies under the work <br />plan. In particular, Commissioner Grefenberg recommended the HRC address Project <br />515, an effort to raise awareness about how same -sex couples are discriminated <br />against under Minnesota lair. commissioner Grefenberg suggested the HRC pursue <br />that rather than a domestic partner ordinance that Outfront Minnesota has been <br />advocating. <br />Carolyn Curti distributed a letter from Phil Duran, Legal Director of Outfront <br />Minnesota, seeking Rosevi l l e?s passage of an ordinance. <br />Commissioner bates moved and commissioner Kennedy seconded adoption of <br />Commissioner Grefenberg ?s proposed changes, but net the specific strategies. <br />Commissioner bates said she didn ?t oppose the strategies, but she wanted a <br />subcommittee to reviewer and make recommendations. As an example, she said a <br />subcommittee could review the Project 515 and Outfront Minnesota initiatives and <br />then mare recommendations to the full Commission. <br />Motion to adopt the Strategic Plan Initiatives as amended passed unanimously <br />(attached). <br />Internal Affairs Committee Recommendations to Amend Strategic Plan <br />
