MAYOR DEMOS: I will open this hearing to the public and ask that each person come to the microphone, give his or her name and the address of the property to which they're referring. MRS. MERRY FLANAGN~, 2844 Merrill Street: I presented the petition to you that was signed by most of the people on our street and we still favor it. I would also like to point out that Merrill Street continues on - it doesn't show there - and that part of the street is already improved. So it isn't as though you have one block there that sticks out by itself. It's a continuation of what is already there. COUNCILMAN JOHNSON: How do you feel about the parking? MRS. FLANAGN~: We don't mind that. COUNCILMAN JOHNSON: Do you care which side? MRS. FLANAGAN: No. We live on the mailbox side and it makes sense to me that they would park on the other side. I guess I feel there really isn't any need for anyone else to say too much. MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else on Merrill Street? If not, I will bring the hearing to a close. COUNCILMAN JOHNSON then introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: .Resolution No. 7318 - RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENT NO. P-81-12 UNDER AND PURSUANT TO ~nNNESOTA STATUTES, CHAPTER 429 BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, that in accordance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1961, Chapter 429, as amended, the Council held a public hearing on the proposed construction of Improvement No. P-8l-l2 consisting of the installation of bituminous paving, concrete curb and gutter and necessary appurtenances on Merrill Street from Terrace Drive to County Road C-2, as described in the Notice of Hearing at a cost presently estimated at $41,057.04, and substantially in accordance with the preliminary report as to the feasibility thereof which is now on file in the office of the City Manager; and having considered the views of all interested persons and being fully advised in the premises, the Council does hereby determine and order that said improvement shall be constructed and financed, and special assessments shall be levied therefor, pursuant to said Chapter 429, and that the area proposed to be assessed therefor shall include the property as described in the Notice of Hearing. The City Public Works Director is directed to prepare and sub- mit to the Council the final plans and specifications. 4
