Street on the west, Highway 35-W on the east, State Trunk Highway
36 on the south, and a line 400 feet more or less south of Terminal
Road on the north, as described in the Notice of Hearing at a cost
presently estimated at $120,000.00, and substantially in accor-
dance with the preliminary report as to the feasibility thereof
which is now on file in the office of the City Manager; and
having considered the views of all interested persons and being
fully advised in the premises, the Council does hereby determine
and order that said improvement shall be constructed and financed,
and special assessments shall be levied therefor, pursuant to said
Chapter 429, and that the area proposed to be assessed therefor
shall include the property as described in the Notice of Hearing.
The City Public Works Director is directed to prepare and submit
to the Council the final plans and specifications.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was

duly seconded by Councilman Johnson and upon roll call vote being

taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: All; and

the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said

resolution was 0eclared duly passed and adopted.

COUNCILMAN ~OHNSON: We have for many years - and I was
on the Planning Commission where we talked for years about this
particular piece of property just north of 36 being an ideal
extension of the industrial business area of the City. We now
put a B-4 district in there and it seems to me we're on the
"threshold of bringing to fruition something we've talked about
for years. I feel, obviously, we don't need that size pipe, as
the gentleman suggests, for existing use and that this would be
a natural to p~t in at least some portion, if not all of it,
and put it in the tax increment district. My second is really
based on that assumption - that ~hat's what we're going to
accomplish. I guess if it develops that we can't do that and
that we can't redevelop the property in the way we hope here,
11m not sure that pipe size is justified. We might have to
reconsider it. But I'm assuming it's going to go forward and
that this would be part of the overall district and that this
would become part of the tax increment financing district.

COUNCILMAN CURLEY: I want to reiterate that I'm going to
vote for this to go in the tax increment district.

6
