<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />WORK SESSION <br />WEDNESDAY, JULY 11, 2012 <br />6:30 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Chair Clayton Larson called to order the work <br />session meeting at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present were: Chair Clayton Larson, Commissioners Angela Hames, Andy Holewa, <br />Janet Stodola, and Roberta Thompson <br /> <br />Absent: Commissioners Samuel Scott and Clayton Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also present were: Council Liaison, Fran Holmes; City Planner Meagan Beekman; <br />and Matt Horton, Community Development Intern <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA – JULY 11, 2012 <br /> <br /> The Agenda was approved as presented. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thompson moved, seconded by Commissioner Hames, to approve <br />the July 11, 2012, agenda as submitted. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Zoning Discussion Study – Multi-Family Design Standards <br /> <br />City Planner Beekman provided a brief update for the Commission on the City’s zoning <br />discussion on the multi-family design standards. She explained that on June 25th the <br />Council approved a city-wide moratorium on multi-family dwelling units while the City <br />conducts a zoning study to look at possible design standards. The moratorium can last <br />for up to one year, but the Council would like to move forward quickly and bring forward <br />any proposed zoning code amendments as soon as possible. <br /> <br />City Planner Beekman indicated that staff has begun researching multi-family design <br />standards in other communities, but would like feedback from the Planning Commission <br />on how to frame the language and how to prioritize items, and if there are specific areas
