CITY OF ARDEN HILLS • MEMORANDUM --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DATE: October 4, 1989 TO: City Committee Chairmen FROM: Mary Ann DeLaRosa, Administrative Secretary SUBJECT: Volunteers for City Hall Committee -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- If we are to proceed with a feasibility study for a new City Hall, we need to keep interest moving on this item. Three residents have expressed interest in serving on a City Hall Committee. They are: Ward Sessing, Dorothy Zehm and Jeanne Winiecki. I would ask that at your next committee meeting you ask for volunteers so that an official City Hall Study Committee may be formed and appointed at the November 13 City Council meeting. It would be desirable to have at least one member from the various committees on the roster, as well as participation by a Council member and perhaps a staff member. In addition, we will try to solicit volunteers through a notice in the local newspaper. • If anyone from your committee volunteers, please advise me as soon as possible so that their name may be added to the list of volunteers. Any help you can give us in this regard would be greatly appreciated. P.S. Staff thought it might be easier for volunteers to get together in the winter rather than summer months, when so many are out of town. One of the first items of discussion would be methods of financing a new structure, and size requirements. Next might be a tour of newer city hall facilities to see how they were designed, receive input from their staff as to whether or not the new facility is adequate and/or if they would have done anything differently. Again, please do what you can to solicit volunteers from your members and thanks for your help. madlr •
