�r, <br /> �ENHILLS <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2022-011 <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8, <br /> TRAFFIC AND MOTOR VEHICLES, SECTION 800, TRAFFIC <br /> AND PARKING REGULATIONS OF THE ARDEN HILLS CITY CODE <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA, ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 8 —Traffic and Motor Vehicles, Section 800—Traffic and Parking <br /> Regulations, is hereby amended by amending Subsection 800.04 as follows: <br /> 800.04 Unreasonable Acceleration, Speed Limits. <br /> Subd. 1 Prohibited. Unreasonable acceleration of any motor vehicle on any public or <br /> private road or way within the City, as unreasonable acceleration is defined in Subd. 2, is hereby <br /> declared to be a public nuisance and shall be prohibited. <br /> Subd. 2 Definition. The words "unreasonable acceleration" of a motor vehicle shall be <br /> defined as acceleration without apparent reason, and accomplished in such manner as to cause <br /> squealing or screeching sounds by the tires or the throwing of sand or gravel by the tires of the <br /> vehicle or both. <br /> Subd. 3 Prima Facie Evidence. Prima facie evidence of such unnecessary and <br /> unreasonable acceleration shall be squealing or screeching sounds emitted by the tires or the <br /> throwing of sand or gravel by the tires of the vehicle or both. <br /> Subd. 4 Speed Limits. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle or <br /> recreational motor vehicle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the <br /> circumstances, and in no event at a speed in excess of the posted speed limit on any public or <br /> private road or way within the City. Violations may be prosecuted as a petty misdemeanor or by <br /> administrative citation. <br /> SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> publication according to law.
