March 26. 1956 <br /> <br />The meeting ",as ~~lled to order at 7;00 P.~I. by Mayor Ashbaeh . <br /> <br />Roll Call; All Council members present. <br /> <br />Mr. Marshall Anderson and ~. Lyle Sauers representing the Geor~e R. Sauers Comp~ <br />appeared and requested final approval fo,' Shorewod Hills 1/ 4 Plat. After Qouncll <br />~ discussion. Mr. Sauers stated he ",ould set up a restrictive covenant for the'p1at <br />and give thought to a minumum floorsr.aDe requirement of 1.000squa.re feet not <br />including gara,<;es. breeze",ays. Mr. Carley wilf. give f'n wstimate of the bond require- <br />ment. for road construction. Mr. Ashbach moved.an~ Mr. McClung seconded the mo~ion <br />giving Shorewood Hills '* 4 preliminary approval. <br />Shore",ood Hills '* 6 Plat tlaspresented by the Sauers Compa.n;v for Council approval. <br />The plat was referred to the Planning Board. <br /> <br />Mr. Art Puett, 3615 Snelling Ave. appeared to request that the building occupied by <br />him at the above address be condemmed. Roy Owen, Building Inspector racommended <br />condemnation of the building. The Council requested that Building Inspector write <br />a letter to the Villa,<;e Clerk recommending the condemnation, the letter to be <br />forwarded to the Villl'.ge Attorney, who ~!ill set up condenmation procedings so that <br />the builcling cannot be occupied by the present occupant nor anyone else for bc.siness <br />nor. residential. <br /> <br />Mrs. Fyten, 1137 Edgewater reported a situation at the Richardson residence at 1144 <br />Edgewe.ter. Mrs. Fyten said there isa ge.rbage d1e in the yard "'inter p.nd summer <br />which causes undi.erable odor, insects and rats. The matter is to be referred to <br />Dr. Sekhon. Public Health Officer. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee: Mr. DeLange announced that Mr. Fred Coates "'ill assist him <br />and have charge of village roads on week days in Mr. DeLNlIl:e's absence. <br />All village roads have been posted. <br />Mr. ])ellmge met and talied with Mr. Tretter of Northern States Power dompl'.ny <br />re,o:ardil'..!!: Tiller Lene. The power comps.ny is puttin.o: crushed rock on the street at <br />the request of the vi11a,<;e. <br /> <br />Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Wasielewski registered a complaint in regards to draina.o:e <br />against Mr. Miske. owner of adjoining property. As the drainage problem is a civil <br />problem rether than village or county, the village is .. =b1e to act upon it. <br /> <br />Mayor's Report; Mavor Ashbach s~ested that a list of plat requirements be made for <br />Council use for future plat approvals. Clerk will make list and furnish cgpies to <br />Council members. <br /> <br />. ~e 01erk was requested to check wi th Mr. Courntey in regards to setting up a <br />standard procedure for filing deed restrictions, deeds on land grl'nted to villa~e <br />and other regulations concerning plat developements. <br /> <br />In response to reQuests for a more stricter dog ordinance. the Council requested Mr. <br />Courtne:o;r to draw UIl an ordinance. Masor Ashbach will check into cost for a dog <br />catcher and enforecment of such p~ erdinance. <br /> <br />Roy Owen. BulldiIlO!: Inspector reprot!'d that e. buildin,o: ~ permit was issued to <br />Bently Construction for erection of a house on two lots in Arden Hills 2 but that <br />the contractor is putting the building on t~!O different lots than specified in the <br />bUilding penuit. <br />
