VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />Monday, August 27, 1956 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by 1~yor Ashbach. <br /> <br />Roll Call: All Council members and Attorney present. <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 30 and August 20 meetings of the Council were <br />read by the clerk and approved by the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Wolcyn, 3582 Siems Court was granted an exception to the Building <br />Code for erection of a garage on his property near the adjoining high- <br />way property. . <br /> <br />Mr. Ollaughlin showed Council plans for the proposed commercial buildi~g <br />for Lot 13, Shadey Oaks Addition. <br /> <br />Charles Amble ,I~II w, Amble Road was granted permission to ebtain a permit <br />for a residence to be erected on his property near Amble Road. <br /> <br />wW. Clark of Clark Explosives Company requested permission to abtain a <br />permit for a proposed building on the industrial site north of the Soo <br />line tracks at Hamline Avenue. The matter was referred to the Planning <br />Board. <br /> <br />1~. Don Julen, representing Yw. Stepnitz stated that the road on the <br />Zilliox plat will be completed as soon as our Council gives permission <br />to go ahead on the road w~th the specifications as shown on the plat. <br />h~. Julen was instructed to give Mr. Delange and Ww. Carley a copy of <br />the drainage layouD before the road is blacktopped as Mr. Delange <br />questioned the drainage. <br /> <br />MI'. A.B. Burke 1249 Tiller Lane appeared before the Council to discuss <br />what is to be done about a ditch filled with stagnanil water in front of <br />his house. l\~. Burke s ta ted that the water was due to drainage of a <br />pond in that area. Mr. Delange informed Mr. Burke that there is a <br />drai"age problem in that entire area that will take at least a year to <br />correct, and ti~t the drainage of the pond was the first step taken <br />toward correcting the problem. <br />Motion was made by Hoyt and seconded by Delange that we accept the <br />proposed revision of the Shorewood Hills 6 plat as presented by Lyle <br />Sauers. Motion passed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />N~. Neamy, 3171 No. Lexington appeared before Council to discuss what <br />can be done about the large amount of water draining onto his property <br />from a plat across the street in Mounds View Township. Mr. Carley, <br />Village Engineer presented Council with estimates and two possible methods <br />for correcting the problem. Mr. Carley was requested to check further <br />on the problem. <br /> <br />In regard to the three narrow lots owned by Mr. Friedman, Dr. Hoyt read <br />a letter from a group of residents from that area. The residents made <br />the following suggestions for the three BBREaB narrow lots in Jos. <br />lake Park owned by li'~.,Friedman: <br />That Lots 10 & II, Dlock 1 be made one lot 460' X 45'. <br />That Lot 10, Block 2 be left as a building lot. <br />That with the above suggested changes made, building permits be <br />issued for the two lots. <br />
