FOR THE VILLAGE OF AllDEN HILIS <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 10, 1959 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8110 p.m. by Mayor Ashbach. . <br /> <br />Roll Call: Pres~t; Ashbach, Crepeau, Kennedy, DeLange, Stromquist <br />Absent; none <br /> <br />TM minlites of the July 27, 1959 meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Johnson, attorney for Schreyer, Inc. requested and was infomed of present status <br />of proposed liquor license for Schreyer, Inc. Mr. Johnson informed Council detailed build- <br />ing plans will be submitted to Council in near future. <br /> <br />A public hearill8 was set for the request of Jack: Grudnoske to rezone land at H..m1ine Avenue <br />and Highway 96 to cOllllllercial for September 28, 1959 at 8:00 p.m. at the Village Hall. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS COJol!lll'I'rEE: DeLange quoted prices for installation and purchase of poles for <br />the playground at Hamline Avenue end County Road. E. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE: Iermedy reported that the sW portion of Village has made lllaII;l' <br />requests for public hearing soon on sewer. Hearing date to be set as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Motion by Kennedy, seconded by Crepeau that rules be suspended and an Orilin"""e amending <br />the Zoning Or~i """ee to rezone to Commercial property located in the Et of the NEt of the <br />NEt of Section 34, Township 30 North, Range 23 West was given a final reading and passage. <br />ClElTied. <br /> <br />PUBLIC ~: Motion by Crepeau, seconded by Kennedy that rules be suspended and an <br />Ordinanoe Repealing Ordinance #23, and providing for the regulation of the presenoe of <br />minors under the age of 18 years on the streets or in publio places between the hours of <br />10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., defining the duties of parents, and others in the oare of minors <br />and providing the penalties for violations thereof was given a second and final reading <br />and passage. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Crepeau aJlllounced that the Arden Hills Civil Defense patrol has given muoh volunteer help <br />during the summer on patrol of beaches, etc. <br /> <br />Mavor's Reoort: Mayor Ashbach reported that the lllBYor of New Brighton has requested that <br />the proposed street of lst Avenue North behind the Catholic Church in New Brighton be con- <br />structed to relieve congestion in the area. The road divides Arden Hills and New Brighton. <br /> <br />Mr. Johnson inquired status of road to proposed Husby's Crestview plat. Council informed <br />him that Village Attorney is till checking the matte. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Nordin, both <br />residents on the road stated thlly prefer it to remain a private road, unimproved by the <br />Village . <br /> <br />Electrical Inspector Salverda stated ha had bad reports of violation on electrical con- <br />struction on grounds of Twin Cities Arsenal and asked if' he has the power to go in and <br />check the matter.
