<br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-18 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OPPOSING PROPOSED RAMSEY COUNTY <br />HOTEL/MOTEL TAX <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Arden Hills City Council has reviewed the <br /> <br /> <br />... proposed Bill for an Act amending Minnesota Statutes, 1978, <br /> <br /> <br />Section 477A.Ol, Subdivision 18, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said amendment would authorize the Board of <br /> <br />Ramaey County Commissioners by Ordinance to levy a tax on gross <br /> <br />receipts from the furnishing of hotels, motels or room services <br /> <br />in the County exclusive of the City of St, Paul, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, aeid amendment does not apecify the use of <br /> <br />the funds, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE~, that the Arden Hills <br /> <br />City Council opposes the proposed Ramsey County Hotel/Motel tax, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that local taxes should con- <br /> <br />tinue to be imposed and collected by municipalities at their <br /> <br />diacretion as oppoaed to that of the Board of Ramsey County <br /> <br />Commiaaioners, and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that certified copies of this <br /> <br />Resolution be forwarded to Senator Frederic Knaak, Representative <br /> <br />Tony Bennett, the Ramsey County Board of Commissionera, and the <br /> <br />Ramsey County League of Local Governments, <br /> <br />Pasaed by the Arden Hills City Council this 14th day of March, <br /> <br />1983. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Atteat: <br /> <br />t;~~/~~u <br /> <br />RobertL.
