AL7ERATION. <br /> LOCATION OR MAINTENANCE OF SIGNS WITHIN THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, PROVIDING <br /> FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS. INSPEGTION AND FEES, AND PROVIDING PENRLTIES <br /> FOR VIOLATION. <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS DOES ORDAIN: <br /> <br /> <br /> SECTION 1 TITLE,"PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> A., Title. This Ordinance shall be known, cited and referred to as the <br /> Arden Hills Sign Ordinance except as referred to herein, where it <br /> shall be known as "this Ordinance." <br /> <br /> B. Purpose and Intent._ 7his Ordinance is established to protect health, <br /> safety, general welfare and order within the City of Arden Hills <br /> through the establishment of a comprehensive and impartiai series of <br /> standards, regulations and procedures governing the type, numbers, <br /> size, structure, location, height, lighting, erection, use and/or <br /> display of devices, signs or symbols serving as a visual comnunication <br /> media to persons situated within or upon public right-of-ways or <br /> properties. ' <br /> The provisions of this Ordinance are intended to encourage opportunity <br /> for effective, orderly communication by reducing confusion and <br /> hazards resulting f rom unnecessary and/or indiscriminate use of <br /> corrmuni cati on faci 1 i ties. <br /> C. Separability. It is hereby declared to be the intention of the City <br /> that the several provisions of this Ordinance are separable in accordance with the follawing: <br /> <br /> <br /> 1. If any court of competent jurisdiction shall adjudge any provision <br /> of this Ordinance to be invalid, such judgement shall not <br /> affect any other provisions of this Ordinance not specifically <br /> inciuded in said judgement. <br /> 2. If any court of competent 3urisdiction shall adjudge invalid <br /> the application of any provision of this Ordinance to a particular <br /> property, building, or other structure, such judgement shall not <br /> affect the application of said provision to any other property, <br /> building, or structu re not specifically included in said judgement. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 1 <br />
