Assessment resolution — 2014 Mill & Overlay <br /> RESOLUTION NUMBER 14 -OXX <br /> A RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING <br /> PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT AND CALLING FOR A <br /> PUBLIC HEARING ON 2014 STREET MILL AND OVERLAY IMPROVEMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, bids have been received, and costs have been determined for the improvement of the <br /> following streets by construction of a mill and pavement overlay: <br /> 1. 73 Street from Mill Road easterly to a point approximately 150 feet east of Quebec Street. <br /> 2. Quebec Street from 73 to Old Mill Road <br /> 3. Old Mill Road from 73 Street to a point approximately 250 feet north of Revoir Street <br /> 4. All of Revoir Street <br /> 5. Deer Pass Drive from 20 Avenue west and then north to its terminus in the cul -de -sac <br /> 6. Lakeland Circle east from Centerville Road to Main Street <br /> 7. Meadow Lane from Centerville Road to Dupre Road <br /> 8. Dupre Road from a point approximately 150 feet easterly of Meadow Lane easterly then <br /> southerly to a point approximately 150 feet north of Center Street <br /> 9. Pioneer Lane from Dupre Road to Eagle Trail <br /> 10. Brian Court from Brian Drive easterly to its terminus in the cul -de -sac. <br /> 11. All of Steven Lane <br /> 12. Lakeland Circle West from Centerville Road to Main Street <br /> 13. Centerville Road from Lakeland Circle north a distance of approximately 150 feet. <br /> WHEREAS, the bid price for the improvement is $348,100 and the expenses to be incurred in the <br /> making of such improvement amount to $68,000 so that the total cost of the improvement will be <br /> $414,100. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CENTERVILLE, <br /> MINNESOTA: <br /> 1. The portion of the cost of such improvement to be paid by the city is hereby declared to be <br /> $320,100 and the portion to be assessed against benefiting property is declared to be $94,000. <br /> 2. The City Administrator, with the assistance of the consulting engineer shall forthwith calculate the <br /> proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or <br /> parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law and <br /> not to exceed $500 per residential lot, and he shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in his <br /> office for public inspection. <br /> 3. A hearing shall be held on the 12 day of March, 2014, at City Hall, at 6:45 p.m. or shortly <br /> thereafter, to pass upon the proposed assessment and at such time and place all persons owning <br /> property affected by such improvement will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to <br /> such assessment. <br /> 4. The City Administrator is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed <br /> assessment to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing <br />
