CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> RES.#14-0 <br /> A RESOLUTION RESERVING UNSPENT BUDGET AND REVENUE EXCESSES <br /> FROM YEAR 2013 & COMMITTING THEM FOR PARK PURPOSES TO BE <br /> EXPENDED IN 2014 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Centerville, Minnesota does hereby support the <br /> Parks & Recreation Committee of the City, <br /> WHEREAS, the Governmental Accounting Standards Board's Statement No. 54 defines <br /> committed fund balance as amounts that can only be used for specific purposes pursuant to <br /> constraints imposed by formal action of the Council, <br /> WHEREAS, Council action is required immediately subsequent to year end to formalize the <br /> commitment of fund balance to specified purposes, <br /> WHEREAS, those committed amounts cannot be used for any other purpose unless the City <br /> removes or changes the specified use by taking the same type of action it employed to previously <br /> commit those amounts. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CENTERVILLE, <br /> MINNESOTA: <br /> 1) That unspent budget and revenue excesses in the amount of $1,039.27 be <br /> committed to funding the purchase and installation of park benches along with <br /> previously dedicated funds (Res. #13-25 - $3,041.26 — a copy attached) and the <br /> purchase and installation of equipment associated with a basketball court utilizing <br /> the existing Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Hockey Rink to be expended in 2014. <br /> Adopted by Council this 23rd day of April, 2014 <br /> — Tom Wilharber, Mayor <br /> Teresa Bender, City Clerk <br />
