STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF ANOKA CITY OF CENTERVILLE RES. #15-011— JOINT 15-0/,ZJOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITIES OF CENTERVILLE AND CIRCLE PINES IN SUPPORT OF THE FUTURE CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT WHEREAS, Centennial Fire District was established in 1985 to provide fire service to the cities of Centerville, Circle Pines and Lino Lakes, and WHEREAS, Centennial Fire District continues to provide an essential community-based service, and WHEREAS, Centennial Fire District provides high levels of fire and rescue services, protecting property and life in our cities, and WHEREAS,on January 30, 2016, Lino Lakes will withdraw from the fire district, and WHEREAS,it is important to affirm the continued dedication and professionalism of Centennial Fire District firefighters, and WHEREAS,the cities of Centerville and Circle Pines pledge to keep the Centennial Fire District intact as continuing members of the district, and WHEREAS,the cities of Centerville and Circle Pines have a like vision for the future of the Centennial Fire District, and WHEREAS, a preliminary budget for 2016 has been prepared. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Centerville, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The City Council hereby affirms its commitment to remain part of Centennial Fire District. 2. The City Council commits to the additional $100,000 it will take to continue to fund the Centennial Fire District operations. 3. The City Council affirms its financial support of- - £- Centennial Fire District volunteers and their pension - Providing sufficient funds to continue the high level of training and professionalism - Funding EMT level rescue response - Funding two full-time staff - Funding high quality fire prevention and suppression - Providing quality training to outside organizations
