RESOLUTION 421-0,Zi <br />RESOLUTION DECLINING AND REQUESTING REALLOCATION OF <br />ANOKA COUNTY AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT OF 2021 BROADBAND <br />GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County received American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funding <br />and established a Broadband matching grant program fund setting aside up to $150,000 <br />for those municipalities and townships located in Anoka County that submit an <br />application for eligible use of such funding; and, <br />WHEREAS, municipalities working with broadband providers must meet <br />provisions established by the federal government and commit program funds on a timely <br />basis; and, <br />WHEREAS, the city of Centerville does not currently have a broadband project <br />underway or projected that meets the criteria of the broadband grant program; and, <br />WHEREAS, the city of Centerville recognizes that other areas of Anoka County <br />may have greater need and be able to use the funding. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the city of Centerville by and <br />through its City Council, does hereby authorize the release of these funds so that another <br />community located within the county may apply for and use the reallocated funding. <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, the City Administrator, or their designee, is <br />authorized to execute on behalf of the city/town, any documents necessary to effectuate <br />this decision to decline federal funding and request a reallocation by Anoka County. <br />Passed by the City Council of the City of Centerville this 8th day of December, 2021. <br />D.
