CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />RES. #22 L° <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE UPCOMING <br />PRIMARY & GENERAL ELECTIONS (AUGUST 9 & NOVEMBER 8, 2022) <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 20413.21, subd. 2, the City Council of the City <br />of Centerville must select and appoint election judges for the upcoming Primary & General <br />Elections (August 9 and November 8, 2022); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has advertised for individuals interested in serving in the capacity of <br />election judge, contacted individuals provided by the County through lists from both the <br />Republican and Democratic parties, utilized previously appointed judges or a combination of all <br />to compile the list below of those that Council will consider appointing; and <br />WHEREAS, all of the listed individuals are required to receive training either in the capacity of <br />head judge (3 hours) or election judge (2 hours) as required by Minnesota State Statute 204B.25 <br />and if any of the individuals listed below are not trained, the Election Administrator/Head Judge <br />has the duty and responsibility to not allow that individual to serve in the capacity of head judge <br />or election judge; and <br />Teresa Bender (Elect. Admin.), Shirley Sundquist (Head Judge), Kris Sweeney (Head Judge), <br />Suzanne Seeley (Judge), Patricia Downing (Judge), Janis Hackman (Judge), Judy Landucci <br />(Judge), Julie Lindsay (Judge), Ellen Paulseth (Judge), John Thill (Judge), Jim Weatherhead <br />(Judge) and Myrna Woolery (Judge). <br />WHEREAS, THE City Council appoints Ms. Kris Sweeney as Deputy Clerk for the purpose of <br />conducting the Primary and General Elections in conjunction with (due to excessive workload) or <br />in place of the City Clerk (due to absence). <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA: <br />1. Authorizes the Election Administrator/Head. Judge to deny an individual the opportunity <br />to serve as a Head Judge or Election Judge due to failure to receive proper training per <br />Minnesota State Statute 20413.25. <br />2. Appoints the above stated individuals for the general election to serve in the capacity of <br />head judge or election judges if trained according to Minnesota State Statute 204B.25 with the <br />assignments and schedule subject to the discretion of the City Clerk or designee. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council this 1 lth day of July, 2022. <br />... . ................... <br />D.
