Volunteering is an <br />excellent way to get involved in the community, and connect with others. Information about meeting <br />schedulesis listed below. Please call city hall at 651-792-7933 with any questions about you may have <br />regarding the opening. <br />Parks & Recreation Committee –Open Seat <br />o Meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., in chambers. <br />Adopt-a-Garden <br />Thanks to all the volunteers that participated, again this year, in <br />our Adopt-a-Garden program. The flowers have looked great all <br />season and add a nice touch to our parks system. If you’d like to <br />participate, please contact city hall and we’d be glad to find you a <br />spot to show off your green thumb. <br />PLANNING & ZONING <br />City Code Updates <br />At its meeting on 9/13, a public hearing was held on the following <br />zoning issues: <br />Emerald Ash Borer <br />The Commission consideredand approved updates to clarify that <br />all diseased trees must be removed if they pose a danger to the <br />public. This language is being sent on to the City Council for consideration. <br />Liquor Licenses near Schools <br />The Commission considered and approvedeliminating the radius around schools in which a liquor license <br />would not be issued, siting the many other controls in place to assure the responsible operation of these <br />establishments. This language is being sent on to the City Council for consideration. <br /> <br />
