CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />RES. #24- 4101/ <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE UPCOMING PRESIDENTIAL <br />NOMINATION PRIMARY, PRIMARY & GENERAL ELECTIONS (MARCH 5, AUGUST 13 & <br />NOVEMBER 5, 2024) <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 204B.21, subd. 2, the City Council of the City of Centerville <br />must select and appoint election judges for the upcoming Presidential Nomination Primary, Primary & General <br />Elections (March 5, August 13 and November 5, 2024); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has advertised for individuals interested in serving in the capacity of election judge, <br />contacted individuals provided by the County through lists from both the Republican and Democratic parties, <br />utilized previously appointed judges or a combination of all to compile the list below of those that Council will <br />consider appointing; and <br />WHEREAS, all of the listed individuals are required to receive training either in the capacity of head judge (3 <br />hours) or election judge (2 hours) as required by Minnesota State Statute 204B.25 and if any of the individuals <br />listed below are not trained, the Election Administrator/Head Judge has the duty and responsibility to not allow <br />that individual to serve in the capacity of head judge or election judge; and <br />Teresa Bender (Elect. Head Judge) Pat Downing (Judge) Janis Hackman (Judge) <br />Heidi Errickson-Grahek (Judge) Myrna Woolery Judy Landucci (Judge) <br />Julie Lindsay (Judge) Nathaniel Timmins John Thill (Judge) <br />Jim Weatherhead (Judge) <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA: <br />Authorizes the Election Administrator/Head Judge to deny an individual the opportunity to <br />serve as a Head Judge or Election Judge due to failure to receive proper training per <br />Minnesota State Statute 204B.25. <br />Appoints the above stated individuals for the general election to serve in the capacity of head <br />judge or election judges if trained according to Minnesota State Statute 204B.25 with the <br />assignments and schedule subject to the discretion of the City Clerk or designee. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council this 24th day of January, 2024. <br />Attest <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />
