EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 28th of October, 1985 at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Curley, Franke, Kehr, and Demos. and the following were absent: Johnson. Member Curley introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 7822 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PROPOSAL FOR A FOUNDATION GRANT TO CONDUCT CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION TRAINING WHEREAS 1.5 million Americans have heart attacks each year, and more than 550,000 of them will die, and WHEREAS, there is convincing evidence that the immediate application of cardiopulmonary resuscitation can save lives, and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville, in 1983, initiated a program of offering CPR training free of charge, and WHEREAS, a subsequent series of training sessions have indicated a great interest CPR training, and WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council is committed to the objective of offering CPR training free of charge to 6,000 persons in the next three years, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council, of the City of Roseville, supports the proposal to be submitted to Foundations for a grant to conduct a cardiopulmonary resuscitation training program. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, this 28th day of October, 1985. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kehr, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: All present. and the following voted against the same: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
