<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly <br />held on the 7th day of December, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Johnson, Matson, Cushman, Kehr, <br />and Rog, and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8519 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUNDING <br />FOR THE OLDER ADULT HOME-SHARE PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />referred <br />the need <br />suburban <br /> <br />the Older Adult Home Share Steering Commission (hereafter <br />to as "the Commission") was formed in October, 1985 to study <br />for a long-term home share program to serve older adults in <br />st. Paul communities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following communities are members of the Commission: <br />Hugo, Maplewood, North st. Paul, Oakdale, Roseville, Vadnais Heights, <br />and White Bear Township; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on April 28, 1988, the Commission found that home sharing is <br />a cost-effective housing alternative for older adults, and that con- <br />tinuation of Lutheran Social Service's Suburban Share-A-Home program <br />beyond the pilot phase would be in the pUblic interest; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 26, 1988, the Home-Share Steering commission accepted <br />a Joint Powers Agreement to govern the program beginning January 1, <br />1989 and recommended its approval by each of the named communities for <br />each successive year following 1989; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the proposed maximum fair share contribution for 1990 for the <br />City of Roseville would be $3,211, assuming each of the named parties <br />enters into the Joint Powers Agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, supplemental matching funds will be sought by Lutheran Social <br />Service in an attempt to reduce each party's proposed fair share <br />allocation; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that: <br /> <br />1. The City of Roseville hereby agrees to extending the Joint Powers <br />Agreement dated May 26, 1988 for the Home Share Program through <br />December 31, 1990. <br />
