Paw1enty, Lt. Gov. Molnau, Senator Marty, Rep. Greiling, Chairman Bell and
Commissioner Sanda:

I am concerned about litter along the west side of Snelling A venue in Roseville between
County Road Band Roselawn Avenue. Residents and visitors to Roseville complain
about the ongoing problem of trash and other debris in and near the two Metropolitan
Transit bus shelters there, on the west side. I am concerned that the State and Met Transit
are not taking care of your property and that reflects badly on the appearance of our City.

The City does what it can, placing trash cans near the transit shelters. Nearby businesses
have agreed to empty the trash cans, but trash accumulates faster than those businesses
can feasibly take care of them.

In addition, the City recently entered into an agreement with Transtop to locate transit
shelters in Roseville. Under an agreement with the City, Transtop keeps its shelters free
of graffiti and litter. Transtop asked Met Transit if it could place its shelters where the
two Met Transit shelters are currently located, yet Met Transit refused. That is too bad.
Transtop at least keeps its shelters and the area around them clean.

2660 Civic Center Drive .:. Roseville, Minnesota 55113
651-792-ROSE .:.
