<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting ofthe City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 21st day of May 2007, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Roe, Kough, Thlan, Pust and Klausing <br /> <br />and the following were absent: none. <br /> <br />Councilmember Roe introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 10502 <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE <br />U.S. MAYORS CLIMATE PROTECTION AGREEMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change, the international community's <br />most respected assemblage of scientists, has found that climate disruption is a <br />reality and that human activities are largely responsible for increasing <br />concentrations of global warming pollution; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Climate disruption ofthe magnitude now predicted by the scientific community <br />will cause extremely costly disruption of human and natural systems throughout <br />the world; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Students from Roseville Area High School Earth Group Environmental Project <br />met with the City Council and urged the City's immediate action to protect the <br />Earth. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the City Council (the "Council") of the City of <br />Roseville, Minnesota endorses the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement as <br />amended by the 73rd annual U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting and urges cities <br />from around the nation to join this effort; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that City staff, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and <br />the appropriate Commissions and will review actions and make recommendations <br />on ways the City can track progress and implementation of the U.S. Mayors <br />Climate Protection Agreement. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption ofthe foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kough, and upon vote taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Roe, Kough, Thlan, <br />Pust and Klausing, and <br /> <br />the following voted against the same: none. <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
