<br /> <br />ROSEVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF MEETING OF AUGUST 7, 2007 <br />OASIS PARK ~ 6:30PM <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> Brodt Lenz, Johnson, Kamrath, Kruzel, Pederson, Ristow, Stark, Willmus <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />STAFF: <br /> Brokke, Anfang, <br /> <br /> INTRODUCTIONS/ROLL CALL/PUBLIC COMMENT <br />1. <br />No public comment <br /> <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES – JUNE 5, 2007 MEETING <br />2. <br />Commission Recommendation: <br /> Correct the spelling of Sarah’s name throughout the document (add the “h”). <br />Minutes approved unanimously with the above mentioned changes. <br /> <br />Brokke announced that Matt Hiber has been appointed the new Parks & Recreation Commissioner. <br />Ben Kendall was in attendance for tonight’s meeting as a potential future youth commissioner. Ben is in the <br />th <br />11 grade at RAHS. <br /> <br /> PARK DEDICATION FOR UNITED PROPERTIES PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT NEAR <br />3. <br />LANGTON LAKE PARK <br />John Winston, an attorney for the Partridge Family (property owners) in attendance with members of the <br />Partridge Family. <br /> <br />Mr. Winston spoke on the perception that the park dedication fee and/or land dedication will be coming from <br />the developer when, based on Mr. Winston’s presentation, the dedication is the responsibility of the family. <br />The family is questioning the recommended Park Dedication Fee referencing the addition of the roadway, <br />pathway and other land uses associated with the project. Mr. Winston asked the commission to consider <br />waving the Park Dedication Fee on this project based on the other public use improvements that will be made <br />to the property. <br /> <br />Commission Recommendation: <br />Motion by Willmus, second by Kamrath. <br />Commission recommends to the Council that the City accept the $2000 per unit park dedication fee for the <br />United Properties development. <br /> <br />Commission discussion followed. <br />Pederson asked for background information on the park dedication process. <br />Brokke explained that it is not the place of the Commission to wave the fee or deviate from policy, that <br />responsibility lies with the City Council. <br />Winston responded that the family would be remiss if they did not bring this request to the Commission’s <br />attention. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion passed unanimously <br /> <br /> REVIEW/FOLLOW UP TO JOINT CITY COUNCIL/PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />4. <br />MEETING <br /> <br />Johnson and Willmus briefed the commission in their discussions and communications with the Council. <br />Ristow spoke on the potential benefits of the supplemental sales tax. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
