Call to Order <br />1 <br />Commissioner Boguszewski called to order the Variance Board meeting at approximately 5:30 <br />2 <br />p.m. and reviewed the role and purpose of the Variance Board. <br />3 <br />2. Public Hearings <br />30 <br />Chair Boguszewski reviewed meeting protocol for Public Hearings. <br />31 <br />Planning File 13-006 <br />32 <br />Request by Stuart Shwiff for approval of a VARIANCE to Chapter 1017 (Shoreland <br />33 <br />Management) of the City Code to allow the construction of a home addition that <br />34 <br />encroaches further into the required setback from a water body at 1233 Josephine Road <br />35 <br />Chair Boguszewski opened the Public Hearing at approximately 5:40 p.m. <br />36 <br />Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd provided a brief overview of this request for approval of a <br />37 <br />VARIANCE to the structure setback established in Section 1017.16 (Shoreland Setbacks) of the <br />38 <br />City Code to allow a kitchen expansion to encroach further into the required setback from Lake <br />39 <br />Josephine; as detailed in the staff report dated May, 1, 2013. <br />40 <br />Mr. Lloyd advised that staff recommended APPROVAL of the requested VARIANCE based on <br />41 <br />the comments and findings outlined in Sections 4-6 of the staff report; with the condition that a <br />42 <br />survey be provided at the time of building permit application to delineate the ordinary high water <br />43 <br />level (OHWL) and quantify the impervious coverage of the property with the proposed building <br />44 <br />addition. <br />45 <br /> <br />
