Call to Order <br />1 <br />Chair Boguszewski called to order the Variance Board meeting at approximately 6:15 p.m. <br />2 <br />and reviewed the role and purpose of the Variance Board. <br />3 <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />4 <br />At the request of Chair Boguszewski, City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />5 <br />Members Present: <br />Chair Michael Boguszewski; and Commissioners Shannon <br />6 <br />Cunningham; and Robert Murphy <br />7 <br />Others Present: <br />Planning Commissioner/Alternate Variance Board Member Jim <br />8 <br />Daire <br />9 <br />Staff present: <br /> City Planner Thomas Paschke; Senior Planner Bryan Lloyd <br />10 <br />3. Review of Minutes <br />11 <br />MOTION <br />12 <br />Member Murphy moved, seconded by Member Cunningham to approve meeting <br />13 <br />minutes of February 5, 2014 as presented. <br />14 <br />Ayes: 3 <br />15 <br />Nays: 0 <br />16 <br />Motion carried. <br />17 <br />4. Variance Board Business <br />18 <br />PLANNING FILE 13-006 <br />19 <br />Request by Stuart Shwiff for an extension of the timeline allowed for validation of a <br />20 <br />2013 VARIANCE approval allowing the construction of a home addition that <br />21 <br />encroaches further into the setback from a water body at 1233 Josephine Road <br />22 <br />Chair Boguszewski opened a Public Hearing for Planning File 13-006 at 6:17 p.m. <br />23 <br />Senior Planner Bryan Lloyd summarized the request as detailed in the staff report dated <br />24 <br />April 10, 2014; for validating and extending a Variance approved in May of 2013 to <br />25 <br />accommodate postponed construction of a kitchen addition, postponed due to financial <br />26 <br />constraints during the months following the original approval. <br />27 <br />At the request of Chair Boguszewski, Mr. Lloyd advised that, per City Code, there were <br />28 <br />not limit on the number of extensions. <br />29 <br />Chair Boguszewski closed Public Hearing at approximately 6:21 p.m. with no one <br />30 <br />appearing for or against. <br />31 <br />MOTION <br />32 <br />Member Murphy moved, seconded by Member Cunningham to approve a one-year <br />33 <br />extension of the time allowed to validate the VARIANCE approved by Variance <br />34 <br />Board Resolution #100 as presented in VB Resolution No. 100 at 1233 Josephine <br />35 <br />road. <br />36 <br />Ayes: 3 <br />37 <br />Nays: 0 <br />38 <br />Motion carried. <br />39 <br />5.
