Police Civil Service Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Friday, August 08, 2014 1:00 pm <br />City Hall Elm Room, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Roseville, Minnesota 55113 <br />Commissioners Present: <br />Chairperson Brad VanderVegt, Commissioner Janet Henquinet and Recording Secretary Zoe Jenkins <br />Others Present: <br />Chief Rick Mathwig <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairperson VanderVegt at 1:07PM. <br />The Agenda for today's meeting was reviewed and approved as submitted. <br />The minutes of the July 14, 2014, meeting were reviewed and unanimously approved. <br />Chief Mathwig reviewed the candidates on the officer hire list. Two of the candidates have <br />accepted positions in other communities. One candidate, Christine Marston, has been added to <br />the list. It was moved and seconded that this addition be certified. <br />5. Other business: Chief Mathwig requested the commission approve an internal hiring <br />process. This process has been used sparingly in the past when needed. Chief Mathwig <br />discussed the situation with City Manager Trudgeon prior to this meeting. He confirmed that <br />such a procedure was not in conflict with existing hiring practices. A candidate will be <br />selected to be added to the eligibility roster. The commission unanimously approved this <br />limited hiring process. <br />6.
