<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council ofthe City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held in the City Hall at 2660 Civic Center <br />Drive, Roseville, Minnesota, on Monday, the 23rd day of February, 2004, at 7:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Thlan, Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Klausing and the <br />following were absent: none. <br /> <br />Council Member Maschka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 10206 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONDEMNATION OF <br />EASEMENTS FOR WALKING PATHS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, 2800 Arona Street is being developed from vacant land into 128 units of a <br />mix of housing and park areas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a result of said development, the population of the area will increase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, with the development and concomitant population increase, the City feels <br />that the addition of walking paths is necessary for the purpose of providing recreation and leisure <br />opportunities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said walking path easements will cross the property owned by Terrace Park <br />LLC and North Prior LLC; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the owners of the land underlying the proposed walking path easements and <br />the City have thus far been unsuccessful in reaching an agreement to purchase the needed <br />easements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, easements to the land underlying the walking paths are needed so that <br />construction ofthe walking paths can begin; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the City <br />Administration is directed to immediately proceed with acquisition ofthe easements necessary <br />for the walking paths. Said acquisitions are to be either through continued negotiation and/or <br />condemnation pursuant to the City's eminent domain authority. <br />
