CITY OF ROSEVILLE
ORDINANCE NO. l204

*

*

*

*

*

*

*

AN ORDINANCE PERMITTING THE USE OF NONINTOXICATING MALT
LIQUOR IN McCARRONS LAKE PARK, AND ESTABLISHING THE PROCEDURES FOR
SUCH USE AND AMENDING SECTION 701.03 OF THE CITY CODE.

The City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, does hereby ordain:

I.

Backeround

As a result of the severe weather on May 15, 1998, the shelter at the Snail Lake

Park in Shoreview was destroyed. Ramsey County allows the use of Snail Lake Park for events

such as weddings, but will be unable to do so until such time as the Snail Lake Park shelter is

reconstructed. Because of this, the County has requested that Roseville allow, on a temporary

basis, the use of nonintoxicating malt liquor at McCarrons Lake Park so that such events may

be held there until the reconstruction of the Snail Lake Park shelter is complete.

II.

Section 701.03 of the City Code of the City of Roseville is amended by adding

subpart 701.03R, to read as follows:

70 1. 03R:

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Code, the use of
nonintoxicating malt liquors as defined in Minnesota Statutes,
Section 340A.101, subdivision 19, is permitted in certain areas of
McCarrons Lake Park. The permitted areas in McCarrons Lake
Park shall be established by the Director of the Roseville Parks
and Recreation Department, or the Director's designee, pursuant
to permits issued by Ramsey County on a case-by-case basis and
upon review and approval of said permits by the Director and the
Roseville Police Department.
