<br />Police Civil Service Commission <br />Police Civil Service Commission Minutes <br />Tuesday, September 25, 2012 2:00 pm <br />Elm Conference Room, City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Roseville, MN 55113 <br />Commissioners Present: <br />Chairperson Zoe Jenkins, Recording Secretary Brad VanderVegt, <br />Commissioner Don Drackert <br />Others Present: <br />Chief Rick Mathwig <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jenkins at 2:00PM. <br />The Agenda for todays meeting was reviewed and approved as submitted. <br />The minutes of the May 8, 2012, meeting were reviewed and unanimously <br />approved. <br />Chief Mathwig discussed the need to create an updated candidates list due to <br />the discharge of one of the departments most recent hires and the need tofill <br />the position expeditiously. The Chief recommends returning to the external <br />hiring process last approved by the commission on November 21, 2001. The <br />process will consist of two successive panel interviews and conclude with the <br />Chiefs panel. Commissioners were invited to observe the process. Themotion <br />to approve the external hiring process as defined by Chief Mathwigwas <br />approved unanimously by the commission. <br />The commission reviewed the Rosenbergs Rules of Order and they were duly <br />adopted. <br />The commission reviewed and duly recognized and acknowledged the City of <br />Rosevilles An Ordinance Amending Establishment of Boards and <br />Commissions specifically Chapter 202 Police Civil Service Commission. <br />There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 2:35PM. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Brad VanderVegt <br />Recording Secretary <br />September 25, 2012 <br />
