<br />321 <br /> <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Continued Keeting Wednesday Eve. April 15, 1953 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: <br />Carlson, 1'fillmus, Membrez, Connor and Hammersten. Milner Carley, Village Engineer, <br />was also present. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson, that we permit Tom Harkins to erect a <br />Batting Cage and issue an amusement license. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The Clerk reported on conversation he had with Tom Schifsky regarding dump <br />and dog pound. Tlillmus moved, Hammersten seconded, that we pay Schifsky monthly <br />for dump and dog pound. Roll call Ayes-( 5) Nayes-( 0). <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Hammersten, that we transfer $2,000.00 from General <br />Fund to Road Fund. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nay-es-(O). <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson, that application of Frank Meidlinger for <br />rezoning the following described property from Residence A District to B District <br /> <br />Lot 5, Jordan Gardens <br /> <br />be accepted and public hearing be held May 5, 1953 at 2:00 P.M. Roll call Ayes-(5) <br />Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Membrez moved, Carlson seconded, that three men be sent to the Fire School <br />the week of April 21 - May 1 at the University's st. Paul Campus and the State <br />Fair Grounds with expenses paid. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />WillmuB moved, Carlson seconded, that we have F.W.D. deliver the truck and <br />that we withhold $350.00 for the cost of a 12 volt generator. Roll call Ayes-(5) <br />Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />The matter of job classification was discussed. Mayor Connor thought we <br />ought to set up our own classification rather than use someone else's as 'their <br />problems might be different from ours. Classifications should be set up for Road <br />SUpervisor, Road Maintenance Foreman and power Grader Operator. It was decided <br />that we wait until next Tuesday to make a decision on the hiring of help for the <br />season's work. At that time the classification table will be ready for our approval. <br />It can then be submitted to the people who may be interested in the various jobs. <br />If it appeals to them and they want the job as outlined, we could hire them at thltt <br />time. <br /> <br />The matter of the Police Department was discussed - the number of men to be <br />employed and the approximate cost. It was suggested that we Bet aside one night <br />for further study of our problem after our next meeting on the 21st of April. <br /> <br />Carlson reported on the damage by vandals at the old Zimmerman farm on <br />Snelling and County Road B and that constable Nelson had been called in on the <br />matter, and there wa~ still a lot of investigating to be done. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Hammersten, <br />Nayes-(O). <br /> <br /> <br />Á~f ~- g~ Mayor <br /> <br />that we adjourn.
