EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 9th day of September, 1991, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Johnson, Maschka, Thomas, Cushman, and Rog, and the following were absent: None. Member Thomas introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 8710 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING GIBBS FARM SCHOOLHOUSE COMMITTEE'S EFFORTS TO PRESERVE THE GIBBS SCHOOLHOUSE WHEREAS, Gibbs Schoolhouse served this community from 1873 until 1960; and WHEREAS, Gibbs Schoolhouse is the only remaining one room schoolhouse in Ramsey County; and WHEREAS, Gibbs Schoolhouse's historical significance would be greatly diminished if it were removed from its original site; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville supports the Gibbs Schoolhouse Committee's efforts to obtain the University of Minnesota's assistance in preserving, restoring and maintaining the Gibbs Schoolhouse to retain historic continuity in the community. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Cushman, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Johnson, Maschka, Thomas, Cushman, and Rog, and the following voted against the same: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
