<br />Special Meeting - Planning Commission <br />Wednesday, May 20, 1964 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: Nelson, Soike, Anderson, Motl and Membrez. Lund and Sigford <br />were absent. Dahlgren, Planning Consultant was also present. <br /> <br />File 64-193 - Mr. Michael submitted a revised lay-out of the multiple develop- <br />ment proposed at the southwest corner of Snelling and Highway 36. He stated the <br />number of units has been reduced to 112 -1 bedroom apartment instead of 124 as <br />originally proposed. The matter of special use permit and other variances are <br />to be taken up at the regular meeting of June 3rd as published in the newspaper. <br />The important thing as of now was to approve the revised plan as submitted. <br /> <br />Soike Moved, Anderson Seconded, that we approve the apartment development plan <br />under the Planned Development Section of the ordinance wherein the building <br />locations, parking areas, etc, are to be developed in accordance with the plan <br />submitted. Carried unanimously. <br /> <br />File 64-77 - Ordinance requiring performance bonds for screening requirements. <br /> <br />Membrez Moved, Soike Seconded, that we recommend that the council authorizes the <br />village attorney to amend the ordinance requiring the posting of a bond covering <br />approximately 1-1/2 of the cost of installing required screening as specified in <br />the zoning ordinance. Such screening plans shall be prepared by a landscape <br />architect or other qualified persons, and shall be submitted at the time the <br />application of the building permit. Carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Along the line of making a study of the existing village zoning ordinance and <br />other matters such as a review of the projected land use potential, thoroughfare, <br />subdivision regulations, etc. Nelson Moved, Membrez Seconded, that we authorize <br />Dahlgren, Planning Consultant, to consult with the State Department of Business <br />Development in regard to the possibility of using "701" Planning Funds for special <br />planning studies which are needed in the village.
