<br />Planning Commission Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, May 06, 2009 <br />1. Call to Order <br />Vice Chair Boerigter called to order the Planning Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m. and reviewed <br />the role and purpose of the Planning Commission. <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />Members Present: Vice Chair Daniel Boerigter; Thomas Gottfried; Glenn Cook; Joe <br />Wozniak; John Gisselquist; and Andre Best <br />Members Absent: Chair Jim Doherty <br />Staff Present: Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon; City Planner <br />Thomas Paschke; and City Engineer Debra Bloom <br />3. Review of Minutes <br />MOTION <br />Member Gottfried moved, seconded by Member Wozniak to approve meeting minutes of <br />April 01, 2009 as presented. <br />Ayes: 5 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Abstentions: 1 (Best) <br />Motion carried. <br />4. Communications and Recognitions <br />a. From the Public (Public Comment on items not on the agenda) <br />No one from the public appeared. <br />b. From the Commission or Staff <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon reminded Commissioners of the <br />upcoming joint meeting of the Planning Commission and City Council on Monday, May <br />11, 2009; and encouraged individual Commissioners to forward any comments or <br />discussion topics to him to include on the agenda for this informal meeting. <br />Commissioner Gottfried suggested that a copy of the tracking matrix by case for Planning <br />Commission and City Council actions may be a good discussion point at the meeting to <br />determine if the City Council was being adequately represented by the Planning <br />Commission. Mr. Trudgeon advised that he would include that document in the agenda <br />packet. <br />Commissioner Boerigter suggested that discussion include the City Council’s intended <br />role for the Planning Commission following selection of a consultant for zoning code <br />amendments and other action items required once formal adoption of the Comprehensive <br />Plan Update occurs. <br />The majority of Commissioners indicated that they would be in attendance at the joint <br />meeting. <br />5. Public Hearings <br />Vice Chair Boerigter provided a brief summary of the public hearing process for land use cases <br />before the Commission. <br />a. PLANNING FILE 09-012 <br />Request by Old Dominion Freight Lines for the VACATION of Public rights-of-way <br />on the north and east sides of property at 2750 Cleveland Avenue <br />Vice Chair Boerigter opened the Public Hearing for Planning File 09-012. <br /> <br />
