<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF ~fEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, HINNESOTA - HELD FEBRUARY 8, 1971 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meetin,g <br />of the Village Council of the Village of Roseville, ~Iinnesota, was <br />duly held at the Village Hall in said Village on 1'-fonday, the 8th <br />day of February, 1971, at 7:30 P.H. <br /> <br />The following members \vere present: Mayor ~1oll, Councilmen <br />Grauel, Linebarger, Anderson and Cur ley <br /> <br />and the follmving were absent: None. <br /> <br />Councilman Curley introduced and moved the adoption of the <br />following resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5601 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF CO~~1ITMENT, NATIONAL REVENUE <br />SHARING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an adequate and fair national revenue sharing system <br />is the highest priority issue confronting government <br />here in Minnesota and throughout America; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, National revenue sharing is essential to preserve our <br />federal system, vi tal to the abi Ii ty of state and local <br />governments to set goals, make decisions and be responsive <br />to the needs of their citizens, and basic to the resolution <br />of the principal domestic problems confronting America; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as evidence of the urgency and high priority we assign <br />to a national revenue sharing system, we hereby publicly <br />commit ourselves to actively support both a realignment of <br />our national priori ties and a reallocation of our resources <br />to provide funds for revenue sharing; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, we recognize the continued need to uti lize categorical <br />aid to meet national objectives, we would support a <br />moratorium on new grant programs; <br /> <br />WllliREAS, we would support, if necessary, such increases in <br />national taxes as are required to supplement existing <br />funds; <br />
