<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 24th day of July, 1995, <br />at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mastel, P. Johnson, Wiski, Goedeke, and V. <br />Johnson, and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Goedeke introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9201 <br /> <br />RELATING TO THE ADMINISTRATION AND <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF A TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT <br />BY THE ROSEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has continued to promote efforts <br />to reduce traffic accidents through the funding of City enforcement efforts, specifically Safe <br />and Sober Programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has established local traffic safety <br />projects for the Federal Fiscal Year of 1995 to 1996 to achieve the above stated purpose, <br />promoting law enforcement and traffic safety; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Police Department is eligible to receive up to $15,000 in <br />reimbursement for participation beginning on the date the contract is signed by the <br />Commissioner of Finance and extending through September 30, 1996, to offset increased <br />personnel overtime cost for traffic enforcement; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Roseville Police Department enter into <br />a grant agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of <br />Traffic Safety, for the following purpose: to reimburse the Roseville Police Department for <br />money spent for approved activities in connection with the Safe and Sober Community's <br />program of local DWI, speed, and seat belt enforcement. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Project Director, the Chief of Police, or designated <br />representative of the Roseville Police Department is hereby authorized to apply for and <br />execute such agreement and any amendment thereto. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />Mastel, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mastel, <br />P. Johnson, Wiski, Goedeke, and V. Johnson, and the following voted against the same: <br />None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
