<br />Variance Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, April 07, 2010 <br />1. Call to Order <br />1 <br />Chair Daniel Boerigter called to order the Variance Board meeting at 6:15 p.m. and <br />2 <br />reviewed the role and purpose of the Variance Board. <br />3 <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />4 <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />5 <br />Members Present: Chair Daniel Boerigter; Commissioners John Gisselquist and Andre <br />6 <br />Best. <br />7 <br />Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke; Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd <br />8 <br />3. Review of Minutes <br />9 <br />MOTION <br />10 <br />Member Boerigter moved, seconded by Member Gisselquist, to approve meeting <br />11 <br />minutes of August 5, 2009 as presented. <br />12 <br />Ayes: 3 <br />13 <br />Nays: 0 <br />14 <br />Motion carried. <br />15 <br />4. Public Hearings <br />16 <br />a. PLANNING FILE 10-009: Request by Peter Anderson for approval of a <br />17 <br />VARIANCE to Roseville City Code, Section 1004 (Residential Districts) to <br />18 <br />allow a porch expansion that would encroach into the required setback from <br />19 <br />a front property line at 1830 Oxford Street <br />20 <br />Chair Boerigter opened the Public Hearing for Planning File 10-009 at 6:18 pm. <br />21 <br />Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd reviewed staff’s analysis of the request of Mr. <br />22 <br />Anderson to allow the construction of a porch that would encroach seven feet (7’) <br />23 <br />into the required setback from the front property line, as detailed in the Request <br />24 <br />for Variance Board Action dated April 7, 2010. <br />25 <br />Staff recommended APPROVAL of the requested VARIANCE to Roseville City <br />26 <br />Code, Section 1004 (Residence Districts) for Peter Anderson, 1830 Oxford Street <br />27 <br />(PF10-009); based on the comments and findings of Section 5 and the condition <br />28 <br />of Section 6 of the project report dated April 7, 2010. <br />29 <br />Discussion included clarification of the actual footage; and confirmation by staff <br />30 <br />that no public comment had been received to-date related to this request. <br />31 <br />Applicant, Peter Anderson, 1830 Oxford Street <br />32 <br />Mr. Anderson was present but had no additional comment beyond the staff report <br />33 <br />as presented. <br />34 <br />Chair Boerigter asked if Mr. Anderson had verbal approval from his immediately <br />35 <br />adjacent neighbors for this variance. <br />36 <br />Mr. Anderson advised that he had spoken to approximately six (6) of his <br />37 <br />neighbors, with all providing positive feedback, supporting the improved <br />38 <br />aesthetics and value to the neighborhood. At the request of Chair Boerigter, Mr. <br />39 <br />Anderson advised that he had spoken to the neighbor immediately on the north <br />40 <br />side who expressed support for the variance request; however, noted that he had <br />41 <br />been unable to contact the neighbor immediately to the south. <br />42 <br />Chair Boerigter closed the Public Hearing at 6:22 p.m., with no one appearing for <br />43 <br />or against. <br />44 <br /> <br />
