<br />Variance Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, May 05, 2010 <br />1. Call to Order <br />Acting Chair Gisselquist called to order the Variance Board meeting at 6:15 p.m. and <br />reviewed the role and purpose of the Variance Board. <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />Members Present: Commissioners John Gisselquist and Andre Best. <br />Members Excused: Chair Daniel Boerigter. <br />Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke and Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd. <br />3. Review of Minutes <br />MOTION <br />Member Best moved, seconded by Member Gisselquist, to approve meeting <br />minutes of April 07, 2010 as presented. <br />Ayes: 2 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />4. Organizational Business <br />Appoint Variance Board Chair and Vice-Chair for the term beginning May 5, 2010 <br />and ending April 6, 2011. <br />Due to a lack of all Variance Board members present tonight, this item of organizational <br />business was tabled until a future meeting. <br />5. Public Hearing <br />PLANNING FILE 10-012: Request by Matthew Johnson for approval of a VARIANCE <br />to Roseville City Code, Section 1013 (General Requirements) to allow a fence taller <br />than four feet (4’) in the front yard at 826 County Road D <br />Acting Chair Gisselquist opened the Public Hearing for Planning File 10-012 at 6:19 pm. <br />Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd reviewed staff’s analysis of the request of Mr. Johnson to <br />allow construction of a six foot (6’) tall fence along the side property line, extending into <br />the front yard. <br />Staff recommended APPROVAL of the requested VARIANCE to Roseville City Code, <br />Section 1013 (General Requirements) as reasonable to allow construction of the <br />proposed fence, based on the comments and findings of Section 5 and the <br />recommendation of Section 6 of the Request for Variance Board Action dated May 5, <br />2010. <br />Applicant, Matthew Johnson, 826 County Road D <br />Mr. Johnson advised that he had spoken with the adjoining neighbor at 926 County Road <br />D West, and that and they had agreed to a one foot (1’) setback for the entire length of <br />the fence to preserve existing vegetation in that area. <br />Staff noted receipt of several phone calls from neighbors seeking clarification of the <br />request. <br />Acting Chair Gisselquist closed the Public Hearing at 6:26 p.m.; no one appeared for or <br />against. <br />MOTION <br />Member Best moved, seconded by Member Gisselquist to APPROVE Variance <br />Board Resolution No. 88 entitled, “A Resolution APPROVING a VARIANCE to <br /> <br />
