<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE ROSEVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL - HELD AUGUST 10, 1981 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was held <br />in the City Hall of said City on Monday, August 10, 1981, at <br />7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Demos, Councilmen <br />Franke, Kehr, Johnson <br />and the following were absent: Councilman Curley <br /> <br />Member Kehr then introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7217 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council hopes that all of its <br />citizens are able to enjoy outdoor activities in the summer, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the number of mosquitoes present during outdoor <br />activities has a direct impact on this ability; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Control District is in charge of <br />controlling mosquitoes in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council believes that an increased <br />level of service by Mosquito Control would not substantially increase <br />taxes, but would allow citizens more opportunity to enjoy outdoor <br />summer activities; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of Roseville supports having the Mosquito Control District <br />increase its level of service to better control mosquitoes in the <br />Twin Cities Metropolitan Area; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Roseville City Council hopes <br />that other communities will adopt similar resolutions of support; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is instructed to <br />forward this resolution to the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Councilman Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon, <br />the following voted in favor thereof: All present <br /> <br />and the following voted against. None <br /> <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
