EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY COUNCIL - HELD AUGUST 10, 1981 * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was held in the City Hall of said City on Monday, August 10, 1981, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Mayor Demos, Councilmen Franke, Kehr, Johnson and the following were absent: Councilman Curley Member Kehr then introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 7217 WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council hopes that all of its citizens are able to enjoy outdoor activities in the summer, and WHEREAS, the number of mosquitoes present during outdoor activities has a direct impact on this ability; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Control District is in charge of controlling mosquitoes in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area; and WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council believes that an increased level of service by Mosquito Control would not substantially increase taxes, but would allow citizens more opportunity to enjoy outdoor summer activities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Roseville supports having the Mosquito Control District increase its level of service to better control mosquitoes in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Roseville City Council hopes that other communities will adopt similar resolutions of support; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is instructed to forward this resolution to the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: All present and the following voted against. None WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
