EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 25th day of July, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. The following members were present: Pust, Willmus, McGehee, Johnson and Roe and the following were absent: none. Member McGehee introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION No. 10916 City of Roseville Participation in the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program (MICAC) WHEREAS, the City of Roseville Police Department desires to join over 80 law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Minnesota who have made a formal commitment to protect our children from exploitation by on-line sexual predators by participating in the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (MICAC); and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes §471.59 authorizes municipalities and state agencies to enter into joint powers agreements; and WHEREAS, through participation in MICAC, the City of Roseville will benefit with investigative and forensic support and investigation training; and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville will receive reimbursement for overtime hours and actual expenses incurred relating to performing MICAC Task Force assignments and training. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Roseville that the Joint Powers Agreement for Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children hereby is approved and the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to execute the Agreement; This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and without further publication.
