EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br /> of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 25th day of July, 2011, <br /> at 6:00 p.m. <br /> The following members were present: Pust, Willmus, McGehee, Johnson and Roe <br /> and the following were absent: none. <br /> Member McGehee introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 10916 <br /> City of Roseville Participation in the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children <br /> Task Force Program (MICAC) <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Roseville Police Department desires to join over 80 law <br /> enforcement agencies throughout the State of Minnesota who have made a <br /> formal commitment to protect our children from exploitation by on-line <br /> sexual predators by participating in the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against <br /> Children Task Force (MICAC); and <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes §471.59 authorizes municipalities and state agencies to <br /> enter into joint powers agreements; and <br /> WHEREAS, through participation in MICAC, the City of Roseville will benefit with <br /> investigative and forensic support and investigation training; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Roseville will receive reimbursement for overtime hours and <br /> actual expenses incurred relating to performing MICAC Task Force <br /> assignments and training. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Roseville <br /> that the Joint Powers Agreement for Minnesota Internet Crimes Against <br /> Children hereby is approved and the Mayor and City Manager are <br /> authorized to execute the Agreement; <br /> This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and without <br /> further publication. <br />
