Parks, Trails Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes December 21, 2010 <br />Page 5 <br />with Item #8. Ms. Olson indicated this is a specific project but could be added onto Item <br />#8. <br />Chair Peck urged everyone to make recommendations on any additions or modifications <br />before the next meeting. <br />Committee Straumann suggested having two categories, Goals Continuing and Goals <br />New, since some of the goals carry forward every year. <br />Ms. Olson indicated she would bring this back next month for review and approval. <br />5. REPORTS <br />A. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Report <br />Ms. Olson reported that the ice rinks are open. She mentioned that Public Works has <br />been getting a lot of use out of the new bobcat Trailblazer. <br />Ms. Olson reported they had a great turnout for Breakfast with Santa which was held this <br />past weekend. <br />Ms. Olson indicated that Public Works is very busy with snow removal. <br />The committee members complimented Public Works for the wonderful job they were <br />doing on snow removal. <br />B. City Council Report <br />Council Liaison Grant reported that the City has received plans for the new McDonald's <br />and demolition of the old structure will occur on June 1, 2011. <br />He indicated that Arden Plaza is coming back to the Planning Commission possibly with <br />a Walgreen's and, therefore, something may be happening in the B2 Zone. <br />He stated that Presbyterian Homes is turning over the triangle piece and the first home, <br />which will be demolished and graded, to the City and that the trail systems throughout <br />Presbyterian Homes will also be open to the public. <br />Council Liaison Grant reported the City is doing some conduit bonding in the amount of <br />$38 million. The agreement states the City will be paid $170,000 for doing the conduit <br />bonding. <br />Ms. Olson indicated that the Community Development Director and City Planner are <br />working with surveyors on the Trinity Lutheran Church property. Council Liaison Grant <br />stated the outcome of this is that the City will then actually own the park. <br />
