In addition, City Staff atternpted �to contact the property owner by phone but found that the <br />listed phone number was disconnec�ed. The property owner has not cantacted the City ta resolve <br />the situatioz�. The house does appear to be occupied. <br />An abatement order allows the City to hire a cantractor to complete the work on the property and <br />charge the cost bac�C to the property owner. The City has received a quote for the woxk from the <br />Ciiy's contracted iree vendor, Precision Landscape and Tree for the am�unt o� $1,998.56 to <br />co�nplete the abatement. This includes removal of the 30" tree, stump grinding, cleanup and <br />topsoil and seeding. <br />Prior to any action, the Council must provide a hearing for the property owner. The property <br />owner was notified of the hearing by regular and certified mail on December 1, 2010. Tn <br />addition, staff posted a notification on the front door, as required by City code. There has been <br />na response. <br />If the Council orders the abatement, the property owner is required to remove the tree within <br />twenty days, unIess within such time, they appeal the Order of the City Council by filing a notice <br />of appeal with the Clerk af the District Court far the Second Judicial District.
