EN I�LL� <br />Re uest #or Quate: Valentine Lake Subwatershed <br />Drainaqe.Studv <br />The City of Arde� Hills is seeking quotes co co�nplete a dra�raage study of the Valentine Lake subwatershed <br />surrounding Vaientine Park. <br />Project Understanding <br />The City of Arden Hilts is looking to defne and anderstand the �ydrology that reaches Valentine P�-k. <br />Valentine Park is located on the southwest corner of Valentine Lake Road and Old Highway 10, across the <br />street from Lake Valentine. A location map is attached. The park current�y has a baseba]] field, a play <br />structure and a p�ved parking ]ot. A warrnir�g house was located ac the park, but was recently moved. In the <br />spring, the park is prone to floading, which has deIayed plans for future park irr3provements_ <br />The Consultant wil] develop an XA-SWMM model to determine the vo]�me oF water reaching the par�C and <br />identifying poten�ial solutions to alleviate flooding in ihe park. <br />Valentine Lake Road has an exEensive s[orm sewer system that was built in ] 995, whieh inc)udes a grit <br />chamber at the corner c�f Valentine Lake Road and O�d Highway 30. The residential neighborhoc�d just west <br />of Valentine Park also has a storm sewer system that drains directly into the west pan af the park, and then <br />tIows through a ditch around the south side of the park. Both of Ehese systems drain toward the northeast <br />eorner of the park, where they discharge iRto Valentine Lake via c�lverts under Old Highway ] 0. <br />The purpose of this study rs to evaluate existing conditions and develop a plan to reduce flooding in <br />Va]entine Park_ This plan wi1l be implemented as projects arise. Future projects in the 10-year Capita] <br />Improvement Plan include the reeoastruction of two neighborhoods (north and south of Lake Valentine <br />Roari) and improvements to Valentine Fark. <br />After the data is collectec� aad mode] is created, the consuItant will evaluate possible solutions, associated <br />costs and present the information iR a sunnmary report. The City wi}1 review the recom�nended solutions and <br />ineorporate potential impraverr�ent projects whenlwhere appropriate into the Ciry's Capita] improvement <br />Plan. <br />Pro'ect A roach/Sco e of Services <br />The design will be based on record plans, feId survey and a� XP-SWMM model for the drainage area_ The <br />foIIowin� are the main components of the work plan. <br />Ie Project Managerr�ent <br />Project management is an iropartant task. Thrs t�sk consists of �nanagement and adrninistration, <br />project coardination, meetings and other communication with the City of Arden Hills staff. Proper <br />comgletian of this task witl alIow far open lines of communication and routine updates on project <br />issues, as well as keepir�g the prQject on schedule and within budget. <br />2. Data Cotleetion/Model Development <br />This involves the gathering of information necessary to compiete a suecessful design. This <br />information will incI�de t�e fol3owing items, as weII as any additiona] information that will be <br />needed for t�e carripletion of the praject. <br />
