Parks, Trails Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes January 11, 2011 <br />Page 5 <br />Interviews for the fourth Council member have been set and the City hopes to have a <br />Council member appointed by the last meeting in January. Committee liaisons will be <br />appointed at that meeting as well. <br />Kyle Howard has been appointed to Finance Analyst. The Finance Department will also <br />be hiring an Accounting Analyst to replace Joe Rueb. <br />Committee Member Straumann asked whether a study had been done on Old Hwy 10. <br />Ms. Olson indicated they did get a report on that section with different options for <br />Council to choose for improvements. She indicated she will find out what the current <br />discussions are on that from Public Works Director Maurer and will report back to the <br />committee. <br />Committee Member Michaelson asked about the County Road E Bridge over Snelling. <br />Ms. Olson advised that the bridge is up for reconstruction in 2015 and possibly would be <br />done sooner if the City decides to advance construct. This is going through a scoping <br />process with MnIDOT and the City staff will be monitoring and working on this. <br />Committee Member Peck asked if the new committee members had been given any <br />background information regarding past /present projects. Ms. Olson indicated she would <br />be mailing the new members the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Committee Chair Scott asked if Council had appointed anyone to represent the City at the <br />arbitration. Ms. Olson indicated that former Mayor Stan Harpstead has been appointed to <br />represent the City. <br />Ms. Olson mentioned she did talk to Ramsey County and they are revamping the 1,000 <br />Bench Program since it was not successful in the past. Once the program is revamped <br />she is going to revisit to see if it looks like something the committee may want to apply <br />for. <br />6. NEXT MEETING <br />A. The next meeting is scheduled for February 15, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. <br />7. ADJOURNMENT <br />Committee Member Straumann moved to adjourn, seconded by Committee Member <br />Garretson. The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m. <br />
