..;,. i � MEMORANDUM DATE: March 27, 2009 Agenda Item 1.A TO: Mayor and City Council Ron Moorse, City Administrator FROM: Kristine Giga, Civil Engineer SUBJECT: Ramsey County US 10/CR 96 Grade Separation and CSAH 96 Improvements- Project Update BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION Ramsey County has requested to attend a Work Session to provide a status update, provide the City Council an opportunity to ask questions about the proj ect, and seek input about the proj ect alternatives. The Project Management Team (PMT), consisting of City, County and State representatives, is in the process of evaluating the signalized intersection and roundabout alternatives presented at the March 3, 2009, Open House and selecting a preferred alternative. The criteria being used to assist in the decision making process has been separated into the three major categories listed below: Transportation • Access Management • Bicycle Facilities • Pedestrian Facilities • Transit • Level of Service in 2030 • Staging of Construction • Safety • Large or Emergency vehicles Social/Economic • Historical, Archaeological, and Cultural • Environmental Justice • Preservation of Characteristics and Ecology • Access \\Metro-inet.us\ardenhills\Admin\Council\Agendas & Packet Information\2009\03-30-09 Worksession\Packet Information\3-30-09 Memo_10- 96.doc
