� <br />EN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE; March 28, 2011 <br />TO: Hanorable Mayor and City Cou�nc��membe�rs <br />FROM: Patrick HIaexs, City Adminis t <br />�������� <br />SUBJECT: Cost of Living Ad,justment for Fnll-Time, Non-Unian, Employees <br />Back�roand <br />During the 20 �� budget pracess, the City Council decided to include $24,211 in the <br />Cantingency Budget �or a Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA) for Ciiy employees. The <br />Public Works union coniract {eight employees) for 2010-11 has been recently settled. 4n <br />March 21, 2U11, the Council discussed options fox a passible COLA for the � 7 full-time, <br />non-union, City employees. <br />Discussion <br />At tY�e March 21 st Cauncil Work Session, it was the consens�s of the Council to give the <br />reg►�Iar full-fime, non-union, Czty employees a one percent {1%} COLA increase <br />effective January 1, 20I 1. This also means that all non-i�nion pay ranges for full-time <br />employees will increase by one percent. Please see the attached memo from the Director <br />of Finance and Administrative Services, Sue Iverson, on the impact of ihis wage increase <br />on ihe budget. <br />The Council also requested addiiional information on wages and benef ts and indicated <br />that they will reevaivate the wage situation in July. <br />It should also be noted that the City pay plan has eight steps in it and that fve of the 17 <br />full-time, non-union, �mpioyees are at the top of their pay rat�ge.
