N EHILLS <br />Draft <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2011 <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chair Scott called the February 15, 2011, meeting of the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Committee to <br />order at 6:30 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Steve Scott, Committee Members Phil Kramlinger, Harold <br />Petersen, and Rich Straumann. <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Park and Recreation Manager Michelle Olson, Council Liaison Ed Werner, <br />Public Works Director Terry Maurer, and former Committee Member Donald Messerly. <br />ABSENT: Committee Members Cindy Garretson, John Peck, Chuck Michaelson, and <br />Nancy O'Malley. <br />1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />MOTION: Committee Member Petersen motioned to approve the agenda as presented, seconded <br />by Committee Member Kramlinger. The motion carried unanimously. <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — January 11, 2011 <br />MOTION: Committee Member Straumann motioned to approve the January 11, 2011, minutes <br />as presented seconded by Committee Member Petersen. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. 2011 Goal Approval <br />Chair Scott informed the committee that Ms. Olson did incorporate the changes <br />suggested at the previous PTRC meeting into the 2011 goals and asked the members if <br />they had any other changes or suggestions. <br />MOTION: Committee Member Straumann motioned to accept the 2011 PTRC goals as <br />presented seconded by Committee Member Petersen. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />B. Facility Fee Discussion <br />Ms. Olson recapped that Council did give the PTRC approval to look into charging fees <br />for use of facilities. She recapped that at the last meeting she had heard from the baseball <br />association and they had asked that the City wait until 2012 before charging fees so they <br />could budget for the expense. She stated she did meet with NS SA, the soccer <br />association, and they informed they have some Capital Improvement money that they <br />wanted to spend and asked if there were any projects that could use funding.
