DEN HILLS <br />Approved: May 17, 2011 <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br />TUESDAY, MAY 17, 2011 <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chair Scott called the May 17, 2011, meetin g of the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Committee to <br />order at 6:30 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Steve Scott, Committee Members Nancy O'Malley, John Peck, <br />Don Messerly, Harold Petersen, Rich Straumann, and Chuck Michaelson. Phil Kramlinger arrived <br />late. <br />Committee member O'Malley left the meeting early. <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Park and Recreation Manager Michelle Olson. <br />ABSENT: Committee Members Cindy Garretson and Council Liaison Ed Werner. <br />1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />MOTION: Committee Member Messerly motioned to approve the agenda, seconded by <br />Committee Member Peck. The motion carried unanimously (7 -0). <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — April 19, 2011 <br />Committee Member O'Malley indicated that under Section 3A the word agri -line should be changed <br />to agri -lime and Committee Member Petersen indicated the word "brought" should be added in the <br />3rd paragraph under Section 5B so the sentence reads ".... .purchase and it will be brought to <br />p g <br />Council for approval at their next meeting." <br />MOTION: Committee Member Peck motioned to approve the April 19, 2011, minutes as <br />amended seconded by Committee Member Petersen. The motion carried <br />unanimously (7 -0). <br />3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Facility Fee Discussion <br />1&2 Youth & Adult Fees <br />Ms. Olson indicated that at the Joint Cit y Council PTRC work session discussion took <br />place on whether the City should charge fees and also looked at park rental fees. They <br />asked the PTRC to review fees and bring back a recommendation. Staff looked at the <br />impact of adding fees for field use. Ms. Olson indicated she e- mailed all the associations <br />on their thoughts about the fees. <br />
