ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL — June 1, 2011 17
8.B. Authorize Hiring Project Inspector (continued)
Councilmember Holmes asked for clarification on why this person was needed for the PMP
project and how it was being funded.
Public Works Director Maurer stated Roseville staff usually provides all of the construction
inspection for the PMP projects but does not have the capacity to do this for the 2011 PMP
project. The 2011 PMP and the Fox Ridge development are close together and a single person
could oversee both projects and be the City's point of contact for residents with questions or
concerns. Because the construction inspector would be used on different projects, each project
will need to fund the services that are used. Pulte Group will pay for the time spent at the Fox
Ridge development, and the time spent on the PMP project will be partially funded by the
overhead costs that were included in the project, and the remainder will be paid for using the PIR
fund. The two projects are close together so a single person could be used for both projects since
neither project requires a full time person.
Mayor Grant suggested the person report to Public Works Director Maurer in regards to the Fox
Ridge development. The City will need someone with this depth of experience for the Fox Ridge
development and this will be a wise investment for the City
The motion was called to a vote.
The motion carried unanimously (5 -0).
9.
