Curreni regulations do <br />not allow detached garages to be Iocated between the home and the street, yet Iakeshare lots tend <br />to be narrower and d�eper than non-riparian lots, and i# is aften nat practical to add garage and <br />storage space in th� side yard of these praperties. Furtherrrzore, the definition of "frant yardz' <br />often differs betvveen the homeowners, who see the lakeside as their front yards, and ihe City, <br />which views the street-side of the home as the front yaxd. <br />The allowance of detached garages in front yards of lakeshore Iots has come up several t�mes <br />recer�tly, as lakeshore lot values continue to increase and demand grows to continue improving <br />these properties.
