'It <br /> EN HILLS <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> POSITION DESCRIPTION <br /> Position Title: Assistant City Engineer <br /> Department: Public Works Department <br /> Accountable to: Public Works Director <br /> Positions Supervised: None <br /> Status: Full-Time, Exempt <br /> December 2011 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: planning and design of City infrastructure; <br /> review of plans and specifications for public and private infrastructure improvement <br /> projects; review of site development plans; coordinate technical civil engineering issues <br /> with City staff; and assisting the general public with engineering related matters. <br /> ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION <br /> • Maintain/manage the City's ICON Pavement Management System. This would <br /> include maintaining the up-to-date rating of the City streets together with the <br /> historical ratings. Overseeing/performing the rerating of approximately one-fourth <br /> of the City streets on an annual basis. Work with the Public Works Director to <br /> provide recommendations for the street reconstruction/rehabilitation/maintenance <br /> CIP. <br /> • Lead the preparation of feasibility studies, plans and specifications, bidding and <br /> construction administration for City projects. Ability to deal with contractors and <br /> citizens involved in public projects. <br /> • Maintain/manage the City's Municipal State Aid (MSA) system including annual <br /> reporting, revision and financial status. <br /> • Review/comment on building permits, site plans and grading and erosion control <br /> permit applications. <br /> • Maintain relationships with Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) and monitor <br /> funding opportunities. <br /> • Manage/Monitor City's compliance with our MS4 storm water permit. <br />
